HEEL SPUR

Do you have heel pain? Have you been told that it’s a “spur”?

A heel spur is a boney growth that is caused by increased pressure on fascias or tendons attached to the bone. It’s a reaction to avoud a fasia or tendon rapture. They can be very painful, especially if you’re an active individual and are always on your feet. The y are usually diagnosed via an X-Ray. They can also be indicated via a clinical assessment by podiatrist.

Symptoms and Causes

Symptoms:

  • Plantar Fascial pain

  • Pain in Morning steps

  • Pain following sitting for long periods of time 

  • Pain after sports

  • Pain during sports

Causes:

  • Excessive pressure 

  • Tight muscles

  • Foot posture

  • Strains on foot muscles and tightness in plantar fascia
