Orthotics

Orthotics

What are they?

Orthotics are devices that are used to redistribute pressures around the foot that may arise from flat feet, heel pain, arch pain or limb length discrepancy.

Orthotics come in many different types.

  1. Customised Orthotics: these are Gold standared when it comes to orthotic therapy as they are peronally tailored around each foot and patient needs. They use casting around the foot that when it dries it is delivered to the lab. Casting can also be done through 3D imaging softwears that captures the foot and is sent to the lab. The casts are accompanied by a thorough prescription form that is done by our trained podiatrists.

  2. Semi-customised orthotics: mainly used for kids

A finished orthotic can easily be placed in any shoe and removed around all shoes that are being used to make sure your feet are supported.
